Art Direction & Design

Lorraine Ferguson, independent graphic designer, collaborates closely with authors,
curators, artists, and architects, in the design of books, exhibitions, film titles, architectural
signage, institutional identities, and products for cultural and educational institutions. She
was formerly chief designer at Walker Art Center, senior designer at Chermayeff & Geismar,
and has served on the faculties of Harvard University, Yale University, and Cooper Union. To

Cartography

Marty Schnure is a geographer, cartographer, and visual storyteller. She is a National Geographic Young Explorer and the co-founder of Maps for Good, a mission-driven mapping and data visualization team. Read more about her work on the Maps for Good website or her personal portfolio.
Editor

Thomas Dyja is a writer, editor, and book packager. He conceived the idea of an illustrated guidebook to the High Line and put together the team that produced ON THE HIGH LINE. Tom is the author of two novels set during the Civil War: Meet John Trow and Play for a Kingdom. His most recent book, The Third Coast: Postwar Chicago and the American Dream, was published by Penguin Press and won the 2013 Heartland Prize for non-fiction. Scott Mlyn is a photographer, picture editor, author, consultant and director of videos using
still pictures. His photographs have appeared in various publications and have been shown in
galleries and museums. He is the author of Before the Game, a book about Major League
Baseball, and was a picture editor at Business Week and Sport magazines. For more about

Juan Valentin hails from the town of San Sebastian in Puerto Rico. He currently works
as a counselor for the New York City Department of Education and resides in Chelsea.

Matt Baron was born and raised in New York City where he currently resides. He
received a Bachelor's Degree from Vassar College in 2010, majoring in Film. He has
since been working as a freelance videographer, director, cinematographer and editor.

Video Editing

Erik Paesel shoots, edits and directs for his one stop shop production
company Whole Shebang Productions. He is a graduate of the USC Film School
and has directed award-winning films like "Zoltar from Zoron." He is currently
developing his own screenplays and webisodes. Erik has lived in Germany and Japan,
and now resides in Los Angeles with his family.
Original Music

Rafael Cortés was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He is a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory
of Music and studied in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar. He was for thirteen years chairman of the
Piano Department at the Turtle Bay Music School in New York City. His essays on music have appeared
in Clavier magazine, and he is the author of the memoir A Pianist: Wanderings of the Mind and Spirit.
He lives and teaches in New York, where he also serves as a judge in piano competitions. Rafael's original composition, "Improvisation on the High Line," accompanies the video in the app. (Available for download
here.) He also plays Schubert's "Moments musicaux" Opus 94, No. 2 in the archival video clip featuring
